Cape Cod British Car Club

On April 2, the SU carburetors were installed but then the fuel pump wouldn’t work properly.

The water pump bearing was noticeably worn – lots of play on the fan.

Kevin has the parts, so come on out and help us put this MGB back on the road.

We need 2 teams: one on the fuel pump and the other on the water pump.

Then we can all learn the mysteries of SU Carburetors as we adjust and tune them up..

We are meeting at Kevin’s garage at 9:00AM on May 4, Saturday.

Brewster in Bloom – Parade & Social – Sunday May 5th, 2024

10:00AM – Breakfast at Bill Scott’s place (must be logged in to get address), Brewster

12:00PM – Staging for Parade, City Town Offices

2:30PM – 4:30PM Lunch at Lost Dog Pub, Dennis

For those off-Cape or from Upper Cape, there will be a group tour led by Tony & Zita Caputo on Rt 6A from Sandwich to Brewster.  Gather at 9:00 at the Sandwich Stop & Shop parking lot in Merchants Square, across the street from the old BBC on the canal side at the stop light.  Group leaves at 9:15 AM SHARP.

You can join the group at  #149 Old Barnstable Train Station.  Group will make a brief stop around 9:30AM and leave at 9:45AM SHARP.

Everyone else should make their own way to the Scott house and arrive between 10 – 10:30 AM (information available for logged in users).

Once there, we all can relax and enjoy a breakfast/brunch out on the sunny deck, sip a Mimosa and enjoy the morning before we head out on a short drive to stage the cars for the parade at the Town Hall Driveway very near to the Scott house. Staging begins at 11:00 and we will be there around 12:00 and the parade starts at 1:00 – Parade theme this year is “Creatures Under the Sea” swimmers, divers, mermaids, treasurers, shells, sand, etc.,  however we have just put flowers, flags and club decals on the cars in the past. There are some flowers available but we are getting low. If you would like to bring your own artificial flowers, please do.  We don’t do it for a parade prize anyway, just for fun.

Traditionally we continue beyond the end of the parade route to Luke’s parking lot and remove the flags and club decals. We then head to a late lunch at The Lost Dog Pub in Dennis at around 2:15/ 2:30 PM.

May 7th – we’ll work on Dan’s MGB and replace pads on rear brakes.

Annual Meeting at Holiday Inn, Falmouth

The club’s Annual Meeting is scheduled for May 11, 2023, 10:00 AM at Holiday Inn, Falmouth, MA.

Timeline for the day:  Annual Meeting:  10:00AM – 11:30AM

Holiday Inn has graciously provided excellent accommodations, coffee and refreshments.

The CCBCC by-laws require we meet annually for the election of officers and any open positions on the Board of Governors as well as for the transaction of any other business requiring a vote of the membership.  In advance of the meeting, club members will be sent a letter from Bill Scott, Chairman of Nominating Committee, with information about the meeting.

Following the meeting, the CCBCC will participate in a national British Car Club event:  British Car Clubs-Building Bright Futures fundraiser event for Habitat for Humanity.

British Motorcars in Bristol is a premier British Car event held locally in Bristol, RI by the BMCNE (British Motor Cars New England).

On June 7th & 8th, the BMCNE will kick off it’s Annual British Motorcars in Bristol car show.

This major event includes a scenic tour around Southern New England, a visit to a Veteran’s Home, hosting a block party in downtown Bristol, and a public Car Show in an effort to raise money for local charities through car show registrations, vendor booths, area sales, and sponsorships.

The CCBCC is encouraging members to attend this event and support a fellow British Car Club and and its efforts to support their local community.  

Join us at the Chatham Airport Plane & Car show – an annual favorite for tourists and car/plane enthusiasts.

Show runs from 10:00AM – 2:00PM.  The CCBCC plans to arrive around 9:30-9:45AM at the airport.

To facilitate us parking as a group at the airport, meet us at the parking lot in front of Dunkin, Patriots Square by the Cinema in Dennis around 8:30AM.

We will leave Patriots Square at 9:10 (sharp) and caravan to Chatham Airport.

Or meet us at the airport around 9:30AM and join us on the tarmac.

HINT:  Arrive early and have breakfast at Hanger B.   Food trucks will be available throughout

the event.

David Rheault will lead a scenic cruise of the Outer Cape encompassing Wellfleet and Truro.

This is the Annual CCBCC Car Show at the Lemon Tree Shops, 1069 Rt. 6A, Brewster, MA.

Always a good time to hang out with fellow CCBCC members and meet car admirers.

We will also hold a brief Members Meeting to review club business.

The Lemon Tree Shops on 6A in Brewster are looking to raise an awareness of this shopping location and would like a spectacular showing of our British Cars to attract the attention of the many Cape visitors. The shops will make a generous donation to our Club if we bring a good showing of cars to their shopping promotion.

Car show starts at 10:30AM, and we hope you stick around to 2:00/3:00PM.

Enjoy the drive on 6A and having fun at the Lemon Tree British Car Show.

We will hold a short June membership meeting around our cars in this setting under the warm sun and shady trees. All those who would like to shop the 12 village stores could do so. One shop does have a breakfast menu, good sandwiches and soups for a light or late lunch.

Let’s help Lemon Tree Village of Shops by showing off our cars to interested visitors from 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM. We’ll relax and enjoy the June afternoon with fellow club members knowing that we will be raising additional money for our club.  We make the shops happy with the increased customer traffic and we go away happy and feeling good about a win win win: a good scenic drive, additional charitable contribution to our club, and a good day for both the Lemon Tree Village and our club members.

The Orleans, MA 4th of July Parade Committee has invited the CCBCC to participate in the parade this year with our British classic cars.

This should be a really fun morning.  Schedule looks like

• 8:00AM  –  CCBCC cars meet at Chocolate Sparrow parking lot.
• 8:20AM – travel together to Nickerson Funeral Home parking lot (77 Eldredge Park Way) for set up.
• 10:00AM – Parade starts
• 11:00-11:30 Parade finishes.

20th Anniversary of Martha’s Vineyard Weekend Getaway for British Cars

This is the 20th year that British Cars have visited Martha’s Vineyard for a Weekend Getaway.

This event is being organized by a group of British car owners from the CCBCC.

It is not a CCBCC event, but it is open to anyone owning a British car.
